Monitorsa are 16:10 or 16:9; there is 1.7x more space left to right; placing Taskbar vertically wastes less space, at least to my perceptin. I primarily work in the right 2./3rds of the monitor, so getting to start button is a quick fast up & right; indeed, since the cursor rides the top edsge of the screen (no wrap, no screen above0, the cursor teds to slide along the edge, making the move to start button very easy.
with monitor 1 (main, 32″ 4K) in front of me and a vertically oriented portrat mode monitor 2, I can move over to it very easilty; i go there often due to music playing in that side, and sometimes I put monitoring things to the right.
