How I choose passwords

image_pdfimage_print

pick a song or phrase with ~12 words. something burned into your memory e.g. “The Rain In Spain Falls Mainly On The Plain”

take the first letter of each word: TRISFMOTP,

first & last uppercase, the rest lower case: TrisfmotP (or first couple UC then rest lc): TRisfmotp

append a punctuation char + the name of the website, or a ~6 chars shortform: TRisfmotp$google

append another, even same, punctuation char + 3-digit # you like: TRisfotp$google#615

you now have an 19-char password with both upper & lower case alpahs, 3 numerics, and 2 punctuations. this is a very strong password and should satisfy the vast majority of sites. matter of fasct i’d argue a website that won’t acceptjh this password format is a bad wesbite.
