I find phrasing me ha needs/wishes as “A smart home should…” lets me describe what i want simnply and clearly, at least as a first cut. Below are some ideas II’ve had…
smart home shouykld tuern the local lights on when the “tv” is turned off. in m y case, “profje3ctoir oiff sho9uld turn off the projects, thje TV stack, and the n turn up the lioghts; after ~2 minutes, turn them off again. 9/120 tijmes i tuend off the progject, then have to try to get the lights on as j trys to fumble through the l;iving room to go to out it. occassionally the will be wrong, but then :”a quick lights off.
even better, sensi ng no one in the living room, turen off 10 secs later.
presxense detection in the hose would enabler lots of this stuff.
fior inst, my under desk heating, both heating pads and bloswer, shopuld go off ~some time after no oine sense here. not hear, no need to keep warm; but thuis is just the feet warming; thi sdoesn’t affexct the overall house temp

a smart house should understand “bar cave” or “bar 2 cave” to have the bar lights go down nin 30seconds and the cavelights to got on immediately.
a smart house would allow the cook to inform the eaters of supper reasdy or whatevs by smart signals, not having to walk down the steps and try to alert those in the baement who may be watching tv or have headphones on or whother unreachble leads to annoyance., must be easier!
a smart house should adjust the volume at my desk when required (e.g, when when hvac blower comes on, or when water is rusing upstyriars,. house listens for the sound of the blower, water rushing, each of which could be trained to the listener. these sounds are very disticnt and should be easyt to identify
also., the so8nd of eatiung chips or wrinkling plastics bag could increase the valume a few notchesd, call the chip offset”
